ANALYSIS:
An open handicap in which plenty could be given chances. There were traffic problems on the inside despite the use of a false running rail on the turn.
NAVIASKY is not one to trust, but he had run well at Redcar on Saturday and picked up well hereto score narrowly from three-year-old Judge Davidson, who did particularly well from stall one, coming with a long run from the back of the field on the wide outside and only just failing to get up after entering the final furlong in eighth place. While the winner is far from certain to reproduce the form next time, Judge Davidson is going to make plenty of appeal granted a decent draw, particularly if stepped up to a mile.
Last year's winner White Emir looked back to form in third, having been slightly tightened up, while in-form Ostara ran another solid race, especially as he appeared to get a crack over the head from Another Glimpse's rider.
Manicani ran out of room when trying to come up the inside, as did Millenium Moonbeam. Both would have been closer, but neither looked like winning.
Mister Clinton did quite well to finish in mid-field from a poor position, while well handicapped Jedeydd was eased significantly when beaten and might still be of interest on this sort of ground in a field he is able to dominate.
