ANALYSIS:
A real shock here, with LONG WEEKEND
nailing Tappit in the final stride despite his rider putting up 5lb
overweight. The winner was breaking his duck at the 37th attempt and
had shown nothing before this in what was a true surprise.
Tappit appeared to be all over the winner when he led two
out. He loves this fast ground and looked like capitalising on his
drop back to the sprint division until Long Weekend came out of the
clouds. These losses may be only lent, however.
Millennium King, a stablemate of Tappit, was in the firing
line for much of the way and battled on well but again he had shown
absolutely nothing before this.
Fulvio tried to improve a poor early position but never
looked like getting into the thick of it. He had plenty going for
him here and it could be that the handicapper has got him.
