ANALYSIS:

This was an improved showing by HARRIER, who had won a Thirsk claimer on his previous start when stepped up in trip for the first time. Making all, he kept on well to beat Cashneem, the first two clear of the rest.
The winner, who is rated 76, may now go for the Eglinton nursery at York next week.
The form may not be quite as good as it first appears because several of the others, notably Brilliantrio, Montana Miss and Mujalina ran below their best, and it was Princess Emily, who was well behind Brillantrio first time out at Newcastle, who came out third best here. She did well to finish as close because she took a good hold early on, didn't come round the bend well, but then kept on, admittedly without ever looking like getting to the first two.
Montana Miss had every chance, for although she was bumped at the start, she was soon in a prominent position, was close up 2f out, but faded in the last furlong. Newcastle winner Brilliantrio didn't really handle the course either, but she pulled hard and will do better when she learns to settle.
