ANALYSIS: A more competitive handicap than the money might suggest, with most of the field in decent heart. They did not go a great pace.
GOODBYE MR BOND pulled well clear in the closing stages to defy a 6lb penalty in emphatic style. He is better than everat the age of four and there is probably further improvement to come as his jockey did not have to get to the bottom of him here. He looks ripe for a step up in class and he ought to give a good account if he gets into the handicap for the Carlisle Bell next Wednesday.
The potentially well-handicapped Alchemist Master continued his run of good efforts but as at Thirsk last time he travelled strongly only to find less than might have been expected and he does not look easy to win with.
Dara Mac had been some way adrift of the runner-up over 7f at Thirsk last time but kept on nicely on the outside for third on this occasion and is clearly better suited by 1m. The fact he remains a maiden after 28 starts indicates this apparently decent effortshould be treated with a little caution.
Mehmaas ran much better than on recent outings, though he had the run of the race in front. He has slipped to an attractive mark, as has Apache Point who again hinted that he could be on the verge of finding some form.
The remainder were well held, with Mount Pekan racing keenly and Cashneem and Night Wolf both well below form, pushed along from halfway
