ANALYSIS: Heavy showers had a dramatic effect on the ground, which, originally forecast to be good to firm, was changed to soft, good to soft in places.
Conditions came in time for PARISIAN PLAYBOY, who is considered much more at home on an easy surface. Heproved it here, recording a big-priced success, racing towards the far side. Given his overall profile, he would not be one to bank on to follow-up.
Oscar Pepper, a triple-winner on this course, was only just denied, while Eastern Hope, with the blinkers left off, ran a more encouraging race.
Basinet, who has been out over hurdles recently, was not beaten far, but is a hard horse to predict these days.
Prime Offer may have found this ground too soft.
Zanjeer ran well, having been raised more than a stone for his recent course win, while Dara Mac, attempting to come from well off the pace, spoiled his chance by hanging to his left, which caused his rider a few problems in the closing stages.
The disappointment of the race was Loner, who came in for significant support on his seasonal debut, but who was in trouble by half-way.
