ANALYSIS: Plenty of these modest performers gave their supporters hope at various stages through the final furlong and a half but it was maiden TURKS WOOD who ran on strongest, having raced on the stands' side wing of the field througout from his highest draw.He has had plenty of chances and has edged up the ratings in defeat, so a further rise for this modest win will leave him very exposed.
Torquemada was gambled on for this seasonal return and nearly landed the support but his formline will read like most of his others, namely that he scythed through the pack into the final furlong looking a possible winner but was outrun.
Vindication stepped up on recent efforts on his preferred faster ground. He is edging down the ratings to look interesting for a similar race, as does lightly-raced Irish import Ektishaaf, who tracked the winner through stands' side, seemingly going nearly as well but then hung badly left under pressure. She looks sure to break her maiden tag sooner rather than later.
Kristinor came to look a danger inside the final two furlongs but had taken a strong grip under restraint at the back and paid for it under pressure.
Last year's winner Cashneem was another undone by racing far too keenly, although he did notshow much sparkle in the final two furlongs.
