ANALYSIS:

Plenty of useful horses and a clutch of progressive ones for a truly run handicap which looks sure to throw up plenty of winners as the season progresses.
REEL BUDDY quickened up smartly despite wandering to win it a shade readily, proving he stays seven really well and putting up a performance which looks well up to Listed if not Group 3 level.
Baccura bounced right back to form on a sound surface, but Early Morning Mist looks more interesting as she is clearly still on the up and camehome willingly in the face of what looked a stiff task. She should progress again and go close next time at this level.
Lapwing had every chance and has clearly trained on well. So has Zozarharry, who may well do better yet given that this washis first run for the Cecil stable.
La Notte seems consistent and ran well considering her stable have yet to hit top form, but Esher Common was the other eye-catcher. He's hardly the best handicapped horse in training at present, but he travelled much better than most for a long way and will doubtless be dropped a few pounds soon.
Midshipman also ran better than the bare result suggests, plugging on, and he could be worth trying over a mile. By contrast Only One Legend may well be a sprinter and could go close at a fair price next time given that he is fairly treated at his best.
Sultan Gamal, off the bit a long way out, was well below his soft-ground form. Lost At Sea didn't show a great deal after his break, while Whale Beach followed his moderate run here last month with a poor one here and looks one to be wary of at present.
