ANALYSIS: Another low-grade affair, worsened for formbook purposes by a slow pace before a late sprint. This probably suited topweight KINGSCAPE, who was also taking a drop in class and had been eased by the handicapper. Connections reported he had disappointed in the past and his head carriage has been called into question. His rider was at pains to keep him covered up until late but he was always alert to the steady pace tracking the front rank. He found enough out in the open, getting the rails run as both Art Investor and Danzare attacked wider, having also raced wider, notably the latter, who took a keen hold early seeing daylight wider out.
Elopement
showed she could have done with a stronger pace as she was rattling home when it was all over. The handicapper has raised her but she left the impression that given an end-to-end gallop she can still defy him at this level.
Gigs Magic, who took a strong grip buried towards the back, was also not seen to best effect but was still disappointing in failing to pick up and land a blow in the sprint home.
