ANALYSIS: Again they all came up the stands' side.
Ordinary form probably, and while TIANA won in clear-cut fashion she would have had a race on her hands if runner-up Rochesis had got away on terms.
Tiana had shown promise in a much better maiden onher debut at Newbury and showed the benefit of that experience with the aid of a first-time tongue-tie and the assistance of the champion jockey. She has a lot of speed in her pedigree.
Rochesis must have lost five or six lengths at the start and was still trailing the field two out. She got the message though when switched to the right and passed rival after rival to finish a clear second. Connections were not unduly surprised, as she is not short of scope and had shown plenty at home.
The stewards appeared to come down very heavily on Secret Liaison following last week's Newcastle debut, where he ran into trouble when coming from off the pace up the rail, and their findings are the subject of a pending appeal. He had the rail again here, and having raced much more prominently he was readily outpaced when Tiana was sent on.
Cheveley Park entry Discotheque had no excuse this time and looks ordinary.
Sofie, like the runner-up, was very slowly away and ran green, but she made groundfrom halfway and was not disgraced.
The City Kid was a springer in the market, but the Haydock third which earned her a BHB mark of 79 looked to flatter her, and this appeared to confirm as much.
Steve Drowne reported that Meddle was unsuited by the track.
Tom Queally reported that Oasis Sun ran green.
